Our experience with AMPLY Discovery

After several weeks of daily use I can say the platform speeds up literature scanning by a huge margin. The search module returned relevant papers within seconds, and the visual links between authors, funding bodies and intellectual property made it easy to spot commercial openings. I appreciated the export options too—dropping tables straight into a pitch deck saved time during my last investor meeting. That said, the tool is not perfect. The learning curve felt steep on day one, filters occasionally behaved oddly, and the current list of external integrations is short. Below I have broken down the strong points and weak spots.

Advantages

Drawbacks

• Initial learning effort: Power features such as custom ontologies require a tutorial session before they truly shine.
• Occasional filter glitches: On two occasions the date slider reset itself, forcing an extra search run.
• Limited third-party hooks: At the moment I can send data straight to Excel and Notion, yet deeper CRM links are still on the roadmap.
• Credit-based pricing: Heavy users may burn through monthly credits quickly and need an upgrade sooner than expected.
